You Can Bet On It

It's week 8 in the NFL... also known as the week before the Pats play the Colts.

Detroit Lions at Chicago Bears (-5)

Detroit won back in week 4 by 10 after the Bears defense surrendered 34 points in the 4th quarter. But that was before every 5 year old in Chicago was wearing a Brian Griese jersey.

PICK: Chicago -5

Pittsburgh Steelers at Cincinnati Bengals (+3.5)

Do you honestly think that Pittsburgh is going to lose two straight games...better yet, do you honestly think Cincinnate is going to win 2 straight games?

PICK: Pittsburgh - 3.5

Oakland Raiders at Tennessee Titans (-7.5)

Something has to give this week when Oakland's high powered run O goes against the Titans stingy rush defense. You know what else has to give, you, to the needy, at Christmas time.

PICK: Oakland +7.5

Cleveland Browns at St. Louis Rams (+3)

Rams get everything back...well minus their entire O-Line... Regardless, Cleveland gives up a lot of yards in the air and doesn't get enough pressure on the QB. The Rams win this one straight up. You should take the over on this one too...and by that I mean I took the over on this one too.

PICK: St. Louis (+3)

NY Giants at Miami Dolphins (+9.5)

The phins play a home game across the pond. Doesn't matter where they play...especially against what perhaps could be the best team in the NFC. That's right, I said it, what are you going to do about it Dallas? Favre, just take a step back.

PICK: New York (-9.5)

Philadelphia Eagles at Minnesota Vikings (+1.5)

Anybody else think this is McNabb's final season in Philly? Vikings are number three vrs the run which means Westbrook, the Eagles, and Andy Reid's heart are in for a long day.

PICK: Minnesota (+1.5)

Indianapolis Colts at Carolina Panthers (+7)

For those of you calling this a trap game for the Colts should be locked in a room and be forced to watch Payton Manning commercials for one straight day...no I take that back...two straight days. *gasp*

PICK: Indianapolis (-7)

Buffalo Bills at NY Jets (-3)

The Bills are playing slightly less awful football than the Jets right now.

PICK: Buffalo (+3)

Houston Texans at San Diego Chargers (-9)

The Chargers became the first team to win on their bye week when Chris Chambers fell into their lap. And he is their 4th option...

PICK: San Diego (-9)

Jacksonville Jaguars at Tampa Bay Bucs (-3.5)

Quinn finally gets a start! What's that you say? Oh, it's Quinn Gray...starting for the injured David Garrard at QB for the Jags...

PICK: Tampa Bay (-3.5)

New Orleans Saints at San Francisco 49ers (+2.5)

The two most disappointing teams in the league this year...we don't count the Rams or Dolphins anymore. Bush is red hot right now and Gore has a slight gimp due to his ankle injury....I'll leave it to you to decide if I'm talking about the running backs or if I just flashed back to the 2000 campaign.

PICK: New Orleans (-2.5)

Washington Redskins at New England Patriots (-16.5)

Forget about trying to beat this team. Let's first start with covering the spread. This Skins team has a tough enough pass defense to at least slow them down. A couple first downs here and there and they possibly only lose by 16.

PICK: Washington (+16.5)

Green Bay Packers at Denver Broncos (-3)

For the third straight year we have to sit through the Monday Night storyline of "Could this be Brett Favre's last game EVER on Monday Night?" I have no problem being the only person in America who can't stand Brett Favre and will be the first to say he is completely playing over his head right now.

PICK: Denver (-3)

I sit possible to take the "beyond the under" for the Bills vs. Jets game?
